Young girls and boys are finding joy and acceptance in free ballet classes offered to those with Down syndrome. The Purple Tutu was founded in 2014 by 20-year-old Holland McDowell and it is completely volunteer based. The kids have shown improvements in core strength, social skills, discipline, and respect at the Washington-based studio.
